Product Details

EBECRYL® 745 is an acrylic polymer diluted 46% by weight with a 1/1 ratio of the reactive diluents 1,6-hexanediol diacrylate (HDODA) and tripropylene glycol diacrylate (TRPGDA). It is used as the primary or modifying oligomer in ultraviolet light (UV) or electron beam (EB) curable formulations to increase adhesion on difficult substrates. EBECRYL® 745 is recommended for: silk screen inks, coatings on plastics, and adhesives and inks for difficult substrates, such as untreated polyester, polypropylene, polystyrene, etc.

PERFORMANCE HIGHLIGHTS

Ebecryl®745 is characterized by
  • Moderate viscosity
  • Light colour
  • UV/EB cured products based on Ebecryl®745 are characterized by the following performance properties:
    • Flexibility
    • Adhesion to difficult substrates
    • Good intercoat adhesion
The actual properties of UV/EB cured products also depend on the selection of the other formulation components, such as reactive diluent(s), additives and photoinitiators.

Typical Applications

Formulated UV/EB curable products containing Ebecryl®745 may be applied by lithographic, screen, gravure, direct or reverse roll, and curtain coating methods.

Ebecryl®745 is recommended for use in:
  • Silk screen inks and coatings on plastics
  • Adhesives and inks for difficult substrates, such as untreated polyester, polypropylene, polystyrene, etc.
  • Adhesion promoting additives
