CRAYVALLAC® PA4X20 is a pre-activated amide wax rheology modifier dispersed in a mixture of xylene and alcohols for sedimentation and sag control. Compared to CRAYVALLAC® PA3X20, this product is specifically designed for coating applications demanding a high degree of transparency or gloss. CRAYVALLAC® PA4X20 is best added to solvent-based industrial coatings following the pigment grind stage, where it provides good control of sedimentation and sag. When using a high-speed disperser, it is recommended that CRAYVALLAC® PA4X20 be added during the final stages of production, when the coating has been partially thinned to a viscosity of approximately 600 - 800 mPa.s (ICI cone and plate at 10000s -1) and the peripheral speed reduced to approximately 4 ms-1. Too high a speed results in destruction of the active components.
Arkema Crayvallac® coating additives products include rheology modifiers, surface modifiers, and flow and leveling agents. Its products also include paint additives designed to improve properties like matting, anti-abrasion, slip and rub, sanding and texturing.
