Why synthetic graphite?

Synthetic graphite is a game-changer.

Compared to traditional mining operations, it’s less labor-intensive, more consistent in quality, and can be made with our carbon-rich feedstocks from existing refining streams. What does that mean in plain English? That we can scale faster and smarter, all while producing a better graphite than what is available in the market today.

Powering the future

Synthetic graphite can play a critical role in the energy transition. It’s a key component in electric vehicles and battery energy stationary storage solutions. Specifically, it is used in the anode of the battery and plays a big role in total battery performance. We anticipate the demand for higher performance batteries will continue to grow, therefore also increasing demand for higher performance graphite materials.

This isn’t a step in; it’s a full-scale launch with power and purpose. When our product enters the market, we expect it will deliver faster charging and longer life than existing graphite materials today.

FormulaPT™

FormulaPT™ are carbon and graphitic powders, specifically developed for the Polymer market in need of a polymer additive. In plastics, graphite is used as a polymer additive mainly for improving tribological and conductive characteristics. FormulaPT™ product line includes synthetic and natural graphite powders in non-purified and thermally purified forms, calcined petroleum coke and our unique Resilient Graphitic Carbons (RGC™). FormulaPT™ products are polymer additives used in a variety of applications including engineered and high performance thermoplastics, thermoset resins, PTFE, food contact, coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers.

Thermally Purified Graphite

Processing carbonaceous materials through the exclusive Electro-Thermal Treatment/Purification Technology removes organic and inorganic impurities such as quartz, silica, and iron, which could act as abrasives. Thermally purified graphite and graphitic carbons are inert, which offers chemical stability while also significantly increasing thermal and electrical conductivity of polymers. In addition to increasing lubrication by lowering the coefficient of friction (CoF), our proprietary ‘Resilient Carbon’ fillers also reduce wear.
