For decades, formulators in need of improved toughness for thermoset systems have utilized methacrylate-butadiene-styrene (MBS) core-shell modifiers optimized for thermoplastic toughening. Advances in the understanding of liquid resin dispersion has led to innovation and development of new MBS core-shell tougheners specifically designed for formulators of structural adhesives and high performance composite materials.
During this webinar, Arkema will present the latest innovation in MBS core-shell chemistry. Clearstrength® XT100 toughener offers improved ease of dispersion and processing efficiency in common thermoset resin systems (e.g. methacrylates, epoxy, and others) while providing excellent toughening performance and crack propagation resistance in extreme conditions demanded by new structural adhesive and composite material applications. The presentation will focus on the limited effect on formulation viscosity and primary particle dispersion while demonstrating how mechanical properties can be significantly improved using ARKEMA’s newest, patented technology.
