Product Details

Caspol® 5001 is a 100% solids castor oil based reactive diluent with a linear chain backbone having low viscosity, good compatibility and wetting. This polyol is the lowest molecular weight diol of the Caspol® series. Caspol® 5001 has a very low viscosity and produces higher strength, elongation and flexibility the DB Oil, while being softer.

Typical Applications

  • Formulation of 100% solids high performance polyurethane coatings
  • Low VOC UV resistant 2-component industrial maintenance coatings and thermosetting OEM coatings
  • Property improvements such as; flexibility, adhesion, moisture resistance, and chemical resistance in coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomeric formulations
  • Low VOC force dry and bake topcoats and primers for plastics and metal
  • VOC and viscosity reduction in coatings, adhesives and sealants
  • Urethane Intermediates, Polymers
