Whenever plastics need to have high elasticity and flexibility, plasticizers provide the answer. They also optimize, for example, the processing properties of polymer materials, which leads to improved production efficiency, quality, or even new properties. These can include greater softness, elasticity, flame retardant properties, resistance to chemicals and stains, or product strength and durability.
Similar to plasticizers, modifiers affect the performance of the polymer to which they are added. However, unlike plasticizers, modifiers from LANXESS are used to strengthen a polymer rather than to soften it. Our modifiers serve to enhance the color, strength, and toughness in critical polyurethane applications.
