INEOS Oligomers

Oligomers are products that are widely used to make detergents, lubricant additives, drilling fluids and a range of other products.
Oligomer and speciality oligomers products are used to make a wide range of products including detergents, lubricant additives and drilling fluids, tyres, specialty acids, agricultural chemicals, plastic additives, specialty chemicals, fragrances and cosmetics.
Oligomers can be divided into four main product groups:
- Linear alpha olefins, which are used as co-polymers in polyethylene manufacture as well as in surfactants, lubricants and oil drilling fluids;
- Polyalphaolefins, essential in the production of high performance synthetic lubricants, with wide ranging applications, from automobiles to wind turbines;
- Polybutene, used in lubricants, adhesives, surface coatings, personal care products, pharmaceuticals, strength / cling film, sealants / caulks / putties, rubber & polymer modification and agriculture; and
- Specialty products, such as cyclopentane, diisobuytlene, isoamylene, isododecane, isohexadecane, methoxypentane and pethylpropadience used in a diverse array of end applications, such as cosmetics, refrigeration liquids and tyre production.
