This list is updated twice per year, the latest update being on January 23, 2024. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has added five new substances and updated one entry, bringing the total to 240 substances.
What does this mean for you? Under EU REACH regulations, manufacturers and importers must adhere to the following rules when their product contains a SVHC substance present in a concentration of 0.1% w/w:
- 2,4,6-tri-tert-butylphenol (CASRN 732-26-3)
- 2-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-4-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)phenol (CASRN 3147-75-9)
- 2-(dimethylamino)-2-[(4-methylphenyl)methyl]-1-[4-(morpholin-4-yl)phenyl]butan-1-one
- Bumetrizole (CASRN 119344-86-4)
- Oligomerisation and alkylation reaction products of 2-phenylpropene and phenol, including phenol, methylstyrenated (CASRN 3896-11-5) (EC# 700-960-7)
- Dibutyl phthalate, updated entry (CASRN 84-74-2)
What does this mean for you? Under EU REACH regulations, manufacturers and importers must adhere to the following rules when their product contains a SVHC substance present in a concentration of 0.1% w/w:
- Importers and producers must notify ECHA within six months of inclusion on the list.
- Safety Data Sheets (SDS) must be updated to identify the substance as a SVHC and update safety information on the use of the substance.
- Upon request by a consumer, the manufacturer must provide sufficient information to allow safe use of the product. This information must be provided within 45 days of receipt of the request.
