Kronos expands territory with Palmer Holland


Kronos Worldwide has announced a new agreement to broaden the distribution of titanium dioxide pigments with Palmer Holland to include the West Coast. The states involved in this expansion include California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.


This distribution expansion is an addition to our current territory of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, western New York and western Pennsylvania.

We are very excited to begin distributing another key line on the West Coast as we continue to grow with our principal partners.

TiO2 pigments are used in paints and coatings, plastics, paper, building materials, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, foods and many other commercial products.

Palmer Holland is looking for a Customer Care Representative. 

 

Essential tasks of the position include:

  • Interact with customers on a daily basis via phone, email, fax and in person
  • Communicate with customers, warehouses and freight carriers with regard to expediting sales orders, carrier transit times, warehouse cut off times, customer complaints, concerns and/or requests for problem resolution and requests for product information
  • Work closely with other PH departments (i.e Supply Chain/Accounting/Sales teams) to ensure timely order fulfillment, appropriate payment/collections procedures, and complete customer satisfaction
  • Assure customer orders are processed and completed in a manner that exceeds customer expectation 

 

Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years related work experience in customer service
    • A four-year degree from an accredited university (preferred)
  • Experience in distribution OR the chemical industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent data entry and typing skills
  • Intermediate to Expert level MS Office skills and general comfort with technology
    • Familiarity with Sage CRM and Sage ERP X3 (preferred)

Ali Hite named society liaison for the Cleveland Coatings Society.

Palmer Holland is excited to announce that Ali Hite, Central Region Account Manager, has been elected to the board of the Cleveland Coatings Society (CCS) as the society liaison.  


As the society liaison, Hite will get valuable exposure to the society’s efforts. She is excited to provide innovative ideas and support to many areas of the organization, while learning from the veterans who have been involved in the industry and CCS roles extensively.  “I look forward to helping the society grow its presence locally and bringing value through creativity, marketing and networking, while also staying at the forefront of the industry changes,” said Hite.


Palmer Holland entered into a partnership with the Schey Sales Center at Ohio University six years ago. Since that time, Palmer Holland has hired seven graduates for its sales certificate program. “It is important that a company such as ours, which has been in business for 90 years as an independently owned chemical distribution company, continually adapts to our marketplace. This includes staying relevant with our sales team,” said Mark Riemann, Vice President of Sales at Palmer Holland.


The CCS has seen an increase in attendance and participation over the past few years. “As I continue to immerse myself in the local coatings industry, I decided getting more involved with the local industry efforts could facilitate deeper connections within the industry network to build stronger relationships,” said Hite.


“Not only are we are developing first class account managers through a multi-year training program, but we are also cultivating young industry leaders. These young executives are all about ‘giving back’ and contributing to our industry. Ali has shown great ability to immerse herself within the industry and effectively support the Cleveland Coatings Society,” said Riemann.


Hite was elected to the position for a three-year term beginning in the summer of 2015. Some of the duties of the society liaison include representing the CCS at local and national meetings and supporting the initiatives of the annual goals set forth by the board members of the CCS.
