March 21, 2018: Weather Alert for Linden Warehouse


Good Morning. A winter storm warning has been issued for the areas including our Linden Warehouse. The storm warning covers the period from 12 am tomorrow morning through 8 am on Thursday, March 22nd.

We are expecting heavy snow and light ice to begin making an impact during the morning hours tomorrow, Wednesday, March 21st. The heavy snow will then continue for much of the day with total accumulations of 12" to 16" .

While we are currently planning to be open and our dedicated colleagues are expected to be here to service our customers, we continue to monitor the forecast. As such, we may alter our operating hours if required. A close during the day on Weds., March 21st is a real possibility. We will communicate any such change in operating hours by email.

With this in mind, we kindly request that you reschedule pick-ups or orders scheduled for tomorrow (Weds.) to today or to Thursday, March 22nd. Our customer service team stands ready to assist in this process.

In addition, some trucking carriers will close during the snow event or otherwise limit their operations and you may wish to check with your specific providers on their operating status.

Palmer Holland Announces New Vertical With The Addition of Three Health & Nutrition Professionals

Cleveland, OH – Effective March 1, 2018 – Palmer Holland, a leading specialty chemical and ingredient distributor, is pleased to announce that it has added Mike Barnes, Bret Horace, and Charles Barber to helm its new health & nutrition vertical.

Mike Barnes, Business Director – Health & Nutrition, brings over 25 years of experience in the chemical industry to Palmer Holland. Previously, he held the position of Central Region Sales Manager at IMCD (formerly M.F. Cachat). He began his career in sales with Ashland Chemical Distribution (IC&S and Fine Ingredients Divisions) and Witco Corporation (Oleo Chemicals Division).

Bret Horace, Sales Director – Health & Nutrition, touts an extensive food and beverage industry background along with supplementary experience into pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals. In his most recent role before Palmer Holland, Horace held a similar sales position with Cargill Inc. He started his career as an account manager with Innophos (formerly Rhodia, Inc) before moving on to manage its Corporate Accounts program. From there he became the Business Director – Life Sciences for Brenntag Specialties, Inc.

Charles Barber, Technical Director - Health & Nutrition, carries a resume of 20+ years of experience in the food and nutritional ingredients space from industry leaders BASF Corp. and Archer Daniels Midland Co. He has held positions in a development lab, managed technical sales, and, most recently, worked as strategic oversight of science, regulatory, applications, and quality. Barber is also a professional member of the Institute of Food Technologists.

Palmer Holland Adds Two Veterans As Technical Specialists To Support Sales Team

We are pleased to announce that we have added Rich Najdusak as a Coatings Technical Specialist and Cathy Novak as a Lubricant & Metalworking Technical Service Specialist.

Rich Najdusak’s extensive technical experience includes over 30 years in the paint & coatings industry. Previously he held positions as Laboratory Manager and Technical Specialist at Borchers additives (formerly OM Group). Prior to Borchers, he spent the majority of his career at the SCM (Glidden)/ ICI/ Akzo Nobel as a chemist, Section Leader, and Technical Manager for the Glidden solvent-based coatings and Devoe Protective Coatings product lines.

Throughout his prolific career in the industry, Najdusak has presented papers at numerous coatings societies and tradeshows including the Eastern Coatings Show, Western Coatings Show, Los Angeles Coatings Society, St. Louis Coatings Society, Cleveland Coatings Society, Chicago Society for Coatings Technology, and Southern Society for Coatings Technology and has been published in CoatingsWorld and PCI magazines. Najdusak’s main responsibility will be to provide additional technical support to the Palmer Holland sales team with travel and education for all coatings related product lines.

Cathy Novak joins Palmer Holland as a Lubricant & Metalworking Technical Service Specialist with over 30 years of experience as a metalworking fluids formulator in the lubricant and metalworking markets. Most recently Novak was the Technical Sales Manager at Lanxess/Rhein Chemie for six years. Prior to that she owned and operated FormCut Engineered Fluids for 10 years before selling to Eastern Oil where she would become the Technical Director for 13 years.

Novak is a past president of the Independent Lubricant Manufacturers Association (ILMA) as well as a former member of its board of directors. She is also a current member and past chair of the ILMA Metalworking committee and SHERA committee. In her new role, Novak will be available to support Palmer Holland Account Managers across all principal lines in the metalworking and lubes markets with travel, education, and general industry support.

Palmer Holland Names Wades Hutchins As West Coast Account Manager


Cleveland, OH – Effective January 1, 2018– Palmer Holland is pleased to announce that it has named Wade Hutchins as a South Region Account Manager based out of Sonoma, California.

Wade brings decades of experience with him to Palmer Holland. He has been in the industry for over 38 years holding a variety of positions for California-based specialty distributor PT Hutchins Company where he was an owner and National Sales Manager. He helped it to enhance its capabilities to include lab support and expand its distribution to become a national entity.

Wade has also made a point to play an active role in local paint societies and committees in the three states he’s called home over the years—California, Oregon and Colorado.
