Afton Chemical has recently introduced a new product to the TecGARD line. TecGARD 265 Natural Sodium Sulfonate is used as the primary emulsifier in the blending of metal removal fluids such as soluble oils and semi-synthetic fluids. It's medium molecular weight, around 470, is desirable for good emulsion stability along with corrosion protection.
It has been shown that the 470 molecular weight range gives the best combination of emulsion stability and corrosion protection in the blended fluids. The higher the sulfonate's molecular weight, 500 and above, the better the corrosion protection. The lower the molecular weight, 450 and below, the better the emulsion stability. TecGARD 265 combines both those benefits.
TecGARD 265 is available in drums and bulk. This product has the potential to become the standard emulsifier for the Metalworking Industry.
